Three years into contemporary folk trio MACs (McKasson / Alexander / Cotter) exploration of what it is to be one small branch of a centuries-old tradition while also being inescapably guided by influences from many other musical languages, the rambunctious trio has released Perfectly Manufactured Reality, a gutsy Celtic-Americana album that depicts this creative journey from its infancy up to the present moment. Featuring former National Scottish Fiddle Champion Ryan McKasson (The Synchopaths, The McKassons) on fiddle/voice, Elias Alexander (Soulsha, The Bywater Band) on bagpipes/percussion/harmonium/vocals, and Colin Cotter (A Thousand Years at Sea, Midnight Choir) on guitar/harmonium/voice, MACs live performance is a wild ride tempered with artistry, finesse, and virtuosity.
