NYWW's Developing Narrative Prose: A Online Workshop in Fiction & Nonfiction w/Tim Tomlinson
Developing Narrative Prose: An Online Workshop in Fiction and Nonfiction
Over six online sessions covering Set-up, Progressive Complications, Pivot Points, Crescendo, Character Development, and Scene/Summary/Dialogue, participants: A) craft prose narratives based on exercises drawn from models of contemporary novels, memoirs, and short stories; B) offer critiques of their peers manuscripts; C) submit their own work (based on exercises, and/or already in progress) for assessment by peers and the instructor. The course is open to writers at all levels. It cultivates the talents of beginners and enriches the skills of seasoned veterans in a nurturing, sensitive environment. By course's end, participants will have over a half-dozen new pieces and over a dozen techniques with which to continue the work started in the sessions.
The course is entirely ONLINE. It goes live Monday evening, Feb 25, 2019. Six individual modules go live on consecutive Mondays. The course concludes on April 7, 2019.
