Musicians Masterclass with Petes Posse and Concert with Pete's Posse and the Contrapolitans
This is a unique opportunity for a masterclass with Petes Posse -- the entire 3-member band!
There will be a high teacher to student ratio. Class size will be limited to 15 musicians.
Class will be 3 hours, including a 30-minute warm-up before instruction begins and a 15-min. mid-session break. Topics are the teachers choice, but weve requested these subjects: foot percussion, writing and arranging tunes, improvising and combining sounds as a band, communicating while performing, injecting fun and excitement into performances, and, if possible, learning a Petes Posse tune.
Note to piano and bass players: If we have more than one pianist or bassist, well rotate duties. So, please bring a second instrument if you have one. This way you can stay in the action while awaiting your turn. Pianists: there is a good piano on-site. However, youll be expected to know how to play at low volume and use the mute pedal!
Bring a music stand in case we need them. Lets try and keep it all-acoustic. For foot percussion, shoes with a hard sole like classic "dress shoes" or clogs are helpful.
