presents a workshop presentation of
BODY POLITIC by Nick Green

BODY POLITIC is a new two-act play dramatizing the stories of Toronto's first gay newspaper, The Body Politic (1971-87). The Body Politic has been acknowledged as one of the nation's most important queer publications, and a catalyst in the formation of Canada's gay rights movement. Like the flashing screen of microfilm, BODY POLITIC rolls through the history of the paper, pausing on pivotal moments in the paper's life and touching on memorable and significant events. This is a play that will educate, illuminate, and celebrate a cornerstone of Canadian Queer History.

The play will be undergoing a two week workshop at the end of which the audience is invited to witness the work. At the end of each presentation evening there will be curated Q&As with members of the company plus invited special guests such as members of The Body Politic collective, current queer Activists etc.

There are ONLY three presentations

FRIDAY   MAY 31 @ 8 pm
