Umami (People + Food)
Umami (People + Food) is an ongoing social food and drink series held every 2-3 months in Bushwick, Brooklyn dedicated to the creation of friendly and leisurely environments for good food and good folks.
MENU
Salad with green leaf lettuce, watercress, avocado, tomato, and cucumber
Pigeon peas and rice (vegan and meat versions)
Stew chicken
Grilled fish with jerk-inspired seasoning
Stewed Eggplant and Tomatoes
Curried Chickpeas and Potatoes
Macaroni Pie
Stewed greens with garlic and lime
Fried plantains
Tropical fruit salad
Guava paste and fresh cheese
Coconut fritters (maybe)
3 courses of cocktails TBD (bet on some dark rum)
An adamantly non-profit and generous project, all proceeds generated from diners' (and producers'!) ticket sales go back into the project to cover the costs of plates, glasses and other overhead for the next dinner. Umami relies on the participation of volunteer prep cooks and cleaning crew.
