REQUIEM
The West Village Chorale invites you to a concert of some of the twentieth century's most beautiful choral music. A concert titled "Requiem" is ostensibly concerned with the theme of death, but the elegiac and lyrical works on this program are also a celebration of life, and of the triumph of the creative spirit over grief and loss. Featuring the dulcet tones of Lucia Hyunhu Song, soprano, a chamber ensemble of flute, oboe, cello, harp, organ, and percussion, and the Chorale's own Elena Belli, piano.
RUTTER REQUIEM; HOWELLS REQUIEM;
BARBER "LET DOWN THE BARS," "SURE ON THIS SHINING NIGHT," and "ANTHONY O'DALY."
BEETHOVEN, arr. HUMMEL - II: ALLEGRETTO FROM SYMPHONY NO. 7
