Join AIA San Diego's Emerging Professionals Commission as we meet with a diverse selection of local firm leaders to learn about the interrelationship of practice and design. Our objective is to cultivate a respect for the breadth of responsibilities required to run a successful architectural practice and the political, financial, and legislative forces that shape today's firms and the built environment they design.
Firm Profile:
The San Diego office of Harley Ellis Devereaux opened in 2001 as Fields Devereaux and subsequently changed names after the 2006 merger with Harley Ellis, a firm originally started in 1908. Harley Ellis Devereaux has systematically grown a comprehensive, successful practice, earning a reputation for excellence in all facets of architecture, from planning, design, engineering, interiors, to construction services. We provide services out of five offices: San Diego, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Detroit, and Chicago. We take special pride in taking on diverse design challenges. Developing innovative, but practical designs, we have earned a reputation for outstanding solutions that stand the test of time. We have a wealth of experience to draw from and to build upon, a quality-focused management system, and a dedication to excellence in design and client service.
Our Architecture and Engineering practice is comprised of five Design Studios focused on Pre K-12 Schools; Higher Education; Science + Technology; Health Care; and Corporate + Commercial. Our work is produced through these expertise-based studios and led by dedicated design professionals that focus entirely on facilities for their particular client segment. This allows us to not only to bring the most up-to-date knowledge and understanding of current design trends and practices to each assignment, but also gives us the opportunity to understand our clients' business from their point of view.
