Raising Shillings, Raising Hope
Our fourth annual fundraiser is an hour of cabaret and broadway singers, featuring actress Margaret Colin (Gossip Girls, VEEP, Independence Day, Carousel), award winning cabaret singer Celia Berk, recent graduates from Circle in the Square Theatre School, Matthew Bennis at the piano, and more, with a brief dramatic reading of the creation of charity "Let's Send These Kids to School". The performance is followed by a reception with food donations from restaurants on Restaurant Row, wine, a three prize raffle, live piano music, and photography exhibiting founder Richard Nesbit's recent trip to Uganda.
Come early. We will feature pianist Preston Smith in a preconcert from 6:30 to 7.
"Let's Send These Kids to School" is a registered 501(c)3 charity seeking to break the chains of poverty by funding the educations of young Ugandan adults who have fallen through the cracks of African society.
