A House Concert Party in Chico!
An evening of unusually good stories and refreshments.
The Grownup Lady Story Company and special guests Melanie Smith and Susan Wooldridge will tell funny true stories for grownups in the home of Edmée & Charles Mohnike at 7:30 pm on Friday May 3, 2013.
The Grownup Ladies are three extraordinary hostesses and accomplished performers who put on warm and entertaining storytelling events in private homes as well as traditional (and nontraditional) theatrical venues.
The Grownup Lady Story Company is:
Rebecca Beegle, who has studied drama with American master Edward Albee.
Amy Botelho, who has worked stand-up in NYC.
Annie La Ganga, who has performed dozens of one woman shows.
Our Special Guest Storyteller Melanie Smith was born to one mother, fostered by another amazing woman, and adopted by the Smith family--all in one year--1970. In elementary school, she made an amazing ceramic sculpture of a woman holding a bouquet flowers that unfortunately broke in the kiln. In recent years, she has explored the limits of insanity and become a member of Costco (again!).
Our Special Guest Storyteller Susan Wooldridge is a well-loved and highly regarded poet and teacher. Her books, poemcrazy, and Fool's Gold, are considered some of the best books on poetry and creativity in print.
Our Special Guest Storyteller Celine O'Malley is a local Chicoan who tells stories for audiences young and old, (on and off stage!), and is the creator and host of the monthly event, Chico Story Slam!. Aspiring poet, artist, comedian and world traveler, Celine is excited to be a part of a local event celebrating cool ladies and great stories.
