The Caucasian Chalk Circle
One of Brecht's most famous and, at the time, controversial works, this play-within-a-play follows an unlikely pair of anti-heroes: a peasant woman who steals an abandoned baby and a wily Village Scrivener who becomes a high-powered judge during a time of political upheaval. In this new version of the classic tale with original music by Nicholas C. Williams, the Drama Class of 2014 at PPAS presents a provocative tale about justice, compassion, political corruption, and revolution.
