ABOUT THE PERFORMANCE
Centennial Youth Ballet's Mini-Nutcracker brings to life a young girl's Christmas dream. Swirling snowflakes, waltzing flowers, dancing bon bons and giant mice battling miniature soldiers will transport the audience to a world of entrancing fantasy.

Centennial Youth Ballet will present The Mini-Nutcracker in The Harpeth Hall School's Davis Auditorium the first weekend in December. Sponsored by Friends of Metro Dance and the Dance Division of the Metropolitan Board of Parks and Recreation, this production has become one of Nashville's most popular holiday traditions for families with young children.

Designed to introduce children to ballet as performance art, The Mini-Nutcracker is an abbreviated, narrated version of Tchaikovsky's Nutcracker Suite Ballet. Centennial Youth Ballet's accomplished dancers perform  with poise, precision and polish. Lavish sets and beautiful costumes enhance the classical movement and spectacular staging. This year, we are excited to welcome guest performer Fredrick Davis as our Sugar Plum Cavalier. Formerly with Dance Theatre of Harlem, he was recently featured in a PBS documentary, "From the Streets to the Stage: The Journey of Fredrick Davis."

The Mini-Nutcracker offers Nashville families the opportunity to begin the holiday season in exhilarating style.
