ABOUT THE PERFORMERS:
CHRIS ZITO Chris Zito has spent the last thirty years sharing his obsession of family with comedy fans and radio listeners all over the country. Starting out as half of the comedy team Zito and Bean right out of acting school, Chris Zito moved quickly to develop his own take on life as a (very!) young father. It wasnt long before he became a mainstay of the early Boston Comedy Scene, eventually making appearances on Comedy Central, USA Network, A&E, NESN and HBO with Larry David among others. If you havent seen Zito live youve almost certainly heard him on the radio with morning show stints on WZLX, OLDIES 103FM and WXLO before moving to MIX93.1FM where he currently hosts the morning show.
Chris Zito is an anomaly among comedians. Whether detailing life as an older father of a preschooler or shuddering at the memories of trying to guide his oldest daughter through her teenage years, Chris Zitos audiences are always acutely aware of what he holds most dear. This honest and open presentation is what makes such a strong connection between Chris and whoever sees him perform. Audiences enjoy Chris Zito's clean, funny, and upbeat approach and constantly find themselves laughing out loud while nodding in recognition at themselves!
LAURA SEVERSE As a streetwise Boston native, devoted wife, working mother of two, storyteller and stand-up comic, Laura brings her hardworking, and heartfelt approach to life to stages across the country. Laura finds the humor in everything from climbing the corporate ladder to the trials and tribulations of raising two young children in the heart of a changing city in the midst of a changing world. Audiences have no choice but to be swept up in the joy, pathos, and sheer excitement of a city kid whos seen it all and cant wait for more. Lauras attitude is equal parts bold, brash, kind, and gentle but always and gut-wrenchingly funny. She is a true Bostonian with a killer accent and her comedy reflects her true nature: honest and hilarious. Laura is a member of Mass Mouth and performs regularly on the WGBH program Stories from the Stage. She has performed all over the country from San Diego to Washington, D.C. and has become a staple of New England comedy. This year Laura was featured as a Best of Boston Comic at CBS Scene, and Best of Laugh Boston Showcase. Laura has been featured in the Women in Comedy Festival and ThunderFest Comedy Festival, she performed in the Boston Comedy Festival Showcase, and hosted a New York/Boston Comedy Chicks showcase for CinderBlock Comedy Festival.
MIKE DORVAL Mike Dorval is a Boston-based comedian and self-described left-leaning dad. After a mere three months of performing, he won the New Hampshire Comedy Festival, defeating some of New Englands most established comics in the process. Armed with only his joke-writing abilities and quick wit, he quickly climbed the comedic ranks and became one of the youngest headliners in Boston history. Hes been praised by the Boston Globe as One of Bostons Best. Mike is known for his accessible yet refined material detailing life as a father, dutiful husband, and slightly bewildered civilian just trying to do his best. He easily wins over audiences with his approachable demeanor and keen insights into relationships, family dynamics, and navigating a society gone mad. He also draws accolades from audience members and comics alike for his skillful crowd work. He has been featured in Comedy Centrals Laugh Riots, starred in numerous television commercials, and toured overseas for the USO. His album We Need To Talk documents his distinctive worldview and performance chops.
He has served as Comic In Residence at The Comedy Studio and is a favorite of the Boston Comedy Festival. Hes written and performed several one man shows and recently revived his interactive comedy show Trials of Love for Gloucester Stage, which previously had runs at the Charles Playhouse and Wellfleet Harbor Actors Theater. Mike's 1 MAN SHOW "Death By Chocolate" received rave reviews.
