Symphony Parnassus Concert: Tragedy and Triumph
Tickets are available at box office today, from 2pm.
Musical director and SF Symphony principal bassoonist Stephen Paulson conducts Brahms' Tragic Overture, followed by Sibelius' Violin Concerto, one of the great romantic concertos in the violin repertoire. Returning virtuoso Alina Kobialka will be the featured soloist. The concert and season will close with Czech composer Leos Janacek's expressive and festive 5-movement Sinfonietta, featuring wondrous fanfares for a 23-member brass section.
