Lost in Hollywood
by Gayle Cornelison, music by Jeffra Cook
Quirky characters, upbeat songs and the often hilarious growing pains of a new and burgeoning industry!
Return to a time when life was simpler, but when Hollywood was becoming the world's undisputed movie capital of the world. The toasts of Hollywood ranged from the elegant Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers to the giant mechanical ape King Kong! Follow the adventures of Richard Nelson, a would-be movie actor delighted to have his "big break" with a new movie studio. He soon discovers that his path to fame will be challenging, that the script is not likely to win any awards and that his director has never directed anything - much less a major motion picture. And, to top it off, his co-stars have more ego than talent, and the camera operator is brand new to movie-making! Is he discouraged? Actors must be optimistic, and Richard is certain that he can act and sing his way to stardom - no matter the vehicle!
"Hollywood in the thirties....a lost time of innocence, of seat-of-the-pants movie-making, of ramshackle sound stages, and of unsophisticated technology, but the beginning of America's love affair with film and those fascinating people who created these timeless pieces of celluloid, as well as those who starred in them!" - Gayle Cornelison
