Biodynamic Apiculture and Alternative Bee Hives with Apiculturist Michael Thiele
The top barre, Warre, Sun and Golden Hive (all available at SHED) will be explored in this class. Additional topics will include information on setting up hives, the natural gestalt of bee colonies and a bee-centric & sustainable approach to beekeeping.
Beginners welcome!
Michael Thiele is a Sonoma County based apiculturist, founder of Gaia Bees, and co-founder of Healdsburg's very own "Melissa Garden", one of the first bee sanctuaries in the country. Michael is featured in the documentary film "Queen of the Sun" and has been published in a number of journals and books.
