Intro to Burlesque Performance

Wednesdays June 12-July 17 from 5:30-7:30 pm

Do you want to be on stage, but aren't quite ready to do it alone? In this 6-week series you will learn an act choreographed by the instructor to perform* as a group in a student recital.

While dancing a routine on stage in front of anaudience looks easy, the work put into performing isextremely time-consuming. We have a limited amountof class time. Students are expected to practice theroutine each week and return to the following week'sworkshop ready to learn new choreography.

Interested parties must be ready to work! Weeklyhomework assignments will be given and are integralto a successful final performance.

Since we will be mastering an entire routine in 6weeks, attendance at all classes is mandatory, andmissing classes may result in non-performance(emergencies will be handled on a case by casebasis).

At the first class, costuming requirementswill be explained.Sparkly trim will be provided, butstudents will be responsible for the cost oftheir costume pieces in addition to the workshop price.

*Students must meet specific standards for costume, choreography, and presentation in order to perform. These expectations will be outlined for students at the first class and referred to throughout the process. Students who do not meet the standards set forth by week 5 will not perform in the final recital, but will be given the opportunity to retake the class at the discounted rate of 50% off.
