Avenue Q - MCCSF Theater Night Fundraiser
Join MCCSF for a night at the theater as we go to see Avenue Q!
Your favorite foul-mouthed puppets return home for the holidays. Avenue Q is the laugh-out-loud, Tony Award-winning musical that tells the timeless story of a recent college grad named Princeton who moves into a shabby New York apartment all the way out on Avenue Q. Once there, he meets Kate (the girl next door), Rod (the Republican), Trekkie (the internet sexpert), Lucy the Slut (need we say more?), and other colorful types who help Princeton finally discover his purpose in life.

There will be a pre-show reception starting at 7:00, catered by Nate Berrigan-Dunlop, executive chef at Starline Social Club. There will be a cash bar, and a 50/50 raffle as well. We'll also have a free raffle for those in attendance for New Conservatory Theater Center Gift Certificates good towards a future show. Show time is 8:00.
Proceeds will benefit the general fund of the Metropolitan Community Church of San Francisco, located at 1300 Polk Street. The Universal Fellowship of Metropolitan Community Churches was founded 50 years ago to be a church home for the LGBTQ+ community, and MCCSF was founded 2 years later. During the height of the AIDS epidemic we held funerals when no other churches would, and we have always held same sex marriage ceremonies. Today we continue to serve the LGBTQ+ community - we are all loved and valued by God for who we are, NOT in spite of who we are.
