The Shaughraun
County Sligo, Ireland. 1866. An escaped convict returns to his homeland only to be confronted by a host of villains, love plots, swashbuckling and songs. At our heros side is the shaughraun (pronounced shaw-rawn) himself - an Irish wanderer who supplies a healthy dose of Irish cheer.  Playwright Boucicault is best known to local audiences as the author of The Octoroon or Life in Louisiana.
