DIY Herbal Honeys, Oxymels and Elixirs
Just in time for the holidays! Come learn to make three delicious herbal concoctions: Infused honeys, oxymels and elixirs.
An oxymel is a mix of honey and vinegar infused with herbs, much like a shrub. An elixir is a mix of alcohol and honey that can be taken by the teaspoon or used in cocktails. All three of these preparations make great gifts, or to serve to guests.
In this class, we will make one of each and you'll get to take take home at least two samples of what we make. I'll also give recipes, and talk about suitable herbs to use, and where to get your herbs. It'll be a busy class, so come ready to measure, pour, shake, label and such!
ALLERGIES: If you have any allergies please let me know as soon as you can so I can try to make things that you can take home too! I can't guarantee that I can cater too all allergies, but I will try.
PLEASE BRING: a notebook, a pen, an apron and your enthusiasm.
