Third Date at Common Ground Theatre
A new company called Third Date joins the Triangle's thriving improv scene with its premiere performances on Friday and Saturday, April 5th and 6th at 8:00 p.m. at Common Ground Theatre in Durham. Directed by Chapel Hill native Dan Sipp, Third Date brings together a different group of actors for every production, creating a one-of-a-kind show each time.
"There are so many talented actors in this area I wanted to work with, but they're always busy with other theater projects," explained Sipp, who performs, teaches and directs improvisation around the area. "Since I couldn't ask them to make a long-term commitment, I'm creating a new ensemble cast for each show."
Joining Sipp for the April 5-6 show are J Chachula, Sarah Eldred, Chuck Givens, Jenny Spencer and Jane Allen Wilson. Coming together for an eight-week rehearsal process, these cast members hail from ComedyWorx, DSI Comedy Theater, Flying Machine Theater and Transactors Improv Company. Sipp will have different ensembles for two other shows in 2013: August 23-24 and November 22-23.
