Please join us as Fabienne Colas,the founder and president of The Montreal International Black Film Festival receives the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Achievement Award. Ms Colas is an actress, director, producer who works tirelessly and passionately to support and promote independent cinema around the globe with a particular focus on Black cinema. This is one of the reasons she founded the Fabienne Colas Foundation and then created the Montreal International Black Film Festival MIBFF.
The Dr.Clarence Bayne Community Service Award,which recognizes an individual who has made significant contributions to Montreal's cultural community, will be presented to Nancy Olivier-MacKenzie. The celebration will also honour two emerging artists for their artistic achievements with the Victor Phillips and Gloria Mitchell-Aleong Awards.
This elegant gala affair will take place on
Saturday February 2nd, 2019 at Hotel Omni Mont-Royal, located at 1050 Sherbrooke St W. Montréal.QC, H3A-2R6.
Cocktails will begin at 5:30pm and dinner starts at 6:30pm followed by a four-course dinner,special guest performances and the awards presentations. DJ Don Smooth will be keeping the mood right, whilst we dance the night away. All individual donations will contribute to supporting the proliferation of Black theatre in Montreal.
