Perceiving the Constant
Perceiving the Constant examines the universally shared experience of time passing. The work invites the audience to look at how humans, both young and old, relate to times ever-controlling presence in their lives, and offers an opportunity to pause and reflect on the intangible force of time. A highly physical work, the movement is also rich with small detailed gestures, arranged by trios, duets, and solos. The original score, composed by Jay Clarke, weaves together with the movement, an experience of haunting timelessness and urgent awareness to the quick pace at which our lives pass.
Program time is 45 minutes with no intermission.
