Home Funeral Practicum
For many who are dying their preference is to be at home versus a hospital. The Home Funeral Practicum provides experience, knowledge, and skills to help you confidently care for someone after death.
We'll have live models to practice moving, washing, dressing, casketing and vigiling. As participation fosters healing you'll paint a casket and take part in meaningful rituals and ceremony.
Whether you design and perform a home funeral vigil by yourself, with a death doula/home funeral guide and/or a licensed funeral director by taking this training you'll gain a thorough understanding of home funerals with their many challenges, Quebec and Ontario legalities, permits, health considerations and the ethics of this emerging, human movement.
We believe reviving old-fashioned, family directed, home vigils/wakes has far-reaching, positive benefits for our children, ourselves and the culture at large: greater peace, enhanced connectivity to and appreciation for life!
