Cupid's Shaft
Cupid's Shaft is a rollercoaster ride through the drama and danger of love and lust. Directed, acted, written, produced, and designed entirely by students, it explores what happens when teenagers are left to make their own rules about what is right. Written by Jacob Rice, the story takes place in the bedrooms of the characters, once a safe haven as children now, as they grow up, the site of sexual awakening and the danger that comes with it.
The story revolves around three groups. A long term relationship that has dealt with the dangers of sex by ignoring it entirely. A friendship that has turned sexual but not by the standard path. And, finally, a love triangle with the potential to destroy friendships. All these people come under the sway of love, lust and sex in a struggle to maintain their identities despite the pressures of growing up.
