S.H.A.D.E Movement Presents: Free Community Human Trafficking Training Series
We are excited to announce our Resilient Project, we will be offering 5 Survivor Expert-led Human Trafficking training's completely free to the community.

We feel it is vital that our young people, LGBTQ, and colored communities are equipped and knowledgeable in order to effectively address this horrific crime that's victimizing our communities.  

All training sessions will take place on a Saturday from 10am to 12pm! Coffee and light snacks will be provided.

List of trainings being offered are:

September 29: Human Trafficking 101
Trainer: Jazmyn Brown
This training will define Sex Trafficking and Labor Trafficking in the U.S, look at intersections of trafficking and how different forms of trafficking are affecting our local communities, etc.

October 6th: Inter-Familial Trafficking
Trainer: Danett Williams
We will explore how trafficking can take place in private homes. How to define familial sex trafficking and child abuse, intimate partner sex trafficking, and intimate partner abuse. We want to end the myth that traffickers are usually someone unknown to the victim, not their mom or dad or intimate partner.

October 27th: Demand-The Link
Trainer: Russell Wilson
When there is no demand, there is no need to supply. We can't disrupt Human Trafficking unless we address the issue of DEMAND. We will look at what is fueling human Trafficking. Discuss sex buyers and sellers locally and look at statistics.

November 3rd: Are you providing/How to provide Trauma Informed Care Services
Trainer: Sarai Smith-Mazariegos
This training will look at effective engagement skills and allow participants to gain a beginning understanding of the impact of trauma, complex trauma on victims of human trafficking. An overview of the stages of change and look at the basic needs of trauma survivors in programs, as well as review the ingredients of trauma-informed practices.

We will review Alameda Counties commercially sexually exploited children's protocol. Explore steps you can do if you come into contact with a victim of human trafficking. There will also be a panel discussion with local organizations providing services to human trafficking survivors.
