About The Company:
Rag and Bone is a collective of dedicated artists that seeks out both untapped source materials and daring, challenging new work in need of development. We provide a safe creative space to incubate these exceptional projects and pour ourselves into ensuring their success.
We have two major productions planned for 2013:
FIRST
"Sacred Water" by Stacy Davidowitz directed by Dan Balkin April 18th - May 4th @ The Alchemical Theatre Lab
featuring: Lauren Berst*, Duane Cooper, Anjili Pal, Cherie C. Rice*, and Jehan Young
"Sacred Water" is the newest and most challenging play by NYC-based playwright Stacy Davidowitz, whose work has been published by Broadway Play Publishing and Indie Theater Now, and whose last play "Rubber Room" was showcased through the Old Vic New Voices TS Eliot US/UK Exchange at The Old Vic in London. Her first full-length, "PINK!", received seven Innovative Theater Nominations for its acclaimed 2009 production.
About the Collaboration:
"The development process has been collaborative, thorough, and constant over the course of a year. With each draft arose new questions and with new questions birthed new discoveries and with new discoveries came the need for further exploration. Once the script was workshop-ready, Dan drove the process from page to stage with brilliant actors who clarified moments, challenged themselves, and freely breathed the psychotic world presented to them. Rag and Bone took a leap into this project, lending their hearts and minds to the story and its growth from an idea to a play, and I could not be more thrilled and appreciative with the work they've done." - Stacy Davidowitz
SECOND
A **TOP SECRET** project the likes of which New York City has rarely seen! In fact, it's so secret that we're legally and morally restricted from saying much before the event.
We will be ANNOUNCING this exciting new project AT this event!
You *won't* want to miss it!
