Reader's Theater at the White Barn Sept. 22 and 23
The state of the union forms a backdrop for the state of relationships in these reader's-theater premieres of two one-act plays. In "The President's Widow," a psychodrama by Barney Leason, a stuffed-shirt Congressman tangos with the wife of a recently assassinated head of state. In "Driven to Distraction," a comedy-drama by John Sullivan, a hapless son matches wit and reason with his doctrinaire mother on a road trip to a family wedding.
Presented readers-theater style (with actors performing onstage with scripts), both one-acts offer trenchant dialogue and insights to human interaction in our turbulent political climate. Join us for some thought-provoking wordplay in our intimate space, Saturday Sept. 22 at 8 p.m. or Sunday Sept. 23 at 3 p.m. As always, refreshments will be served at intermission and a portion of the proceeds will support local nonprofits.
