For your convenience, this season were offering the option of purchasing tickets to all of our regular season concerts at one time!
Tickets for our three 2018-2019 season concerts will be set aside for you at the will call desk at our December concert. (They make great gifts, too!)
This season Whatcom Chorale is proud to present three world premieres of works by local composers as part of our Anchored in the classics, focused on the future initiative.
On Sunday, December 9, 2108, at 3:00 p.m. in Church of the Assumption, Bellingham, we will present Brittens Ceremony of Carols, featuring harpist Jill Whitman, as well as Winter Solstice, an original composition by local composer Henry From. We will open the concert with Jason Robert Browns Chanukah Suite.
On Sunday, March 17, 2019, at 3:00 p.m. in St. Pauls Episcopal Church, Bellingham, we are excited to present Heart Mountain Suite, a new work by award-winning composer Sarah Mattox based on the journals of Kara Condo, a survivor of the Japanese internment camps during World War II in which over 110,000 Japanese-Americans were relocated and incarcerated. Our soloist will be Metropolitan Opera Guild mezzo-soprano Kimberly Sogioka, whose grandparents were interned at the Heart Mountain War Relocation Center in northwest Wyoming. The program will also highlight organist Wade Dingman, accompanying a major organ/choral work.
On Sunday, June 2, 2019, at 3:00 p.m. in Church of the Assumption, Bellingham, our grande finale will include Mozarts Coronation Mass with orchestra and soloists, and Ordinary Prayers, a new song cycle with music by Scott Henderson and poetry by Jill Bigler. We hope you will join us for an amazing afternoon!
