The 2018 Racines Black Dance Festival offers an unprecedented
opportunity to immerse yourself in the rich legacy of Black Dance. Were bringing the highest caliber of dance specialists, from a wide range of styles, to teach workshops and perform in traditional and contemporary African-rooted dance.

Power, subtlety, grace and vitalityBlack Dances origins began in Africa and continue to evolve throughout the Americas. Racines brings the spectrum from West-African, Brazilian
Orixa, Cuban Rhumba, to Haitian, and Puerto Rican Plena. From
early American dances such as Piedmont Blues, Social Dances from 1950s-80s, and Tap, to House, Afrobeat, Breaking, Waaking, and Hip Hop.
