STUDENT TICKETS AVAILABLE AT THE DOOR FOR $10 WITH ID

Austin Shakespeare will present three performances only of Shakespeare's Antony & Cleopatra, September 29-30, 2018 at Austin Ventures Studio of Ballet Austin. The staged reading features two powerhouse actors, Franchelle S. Dorn (Medea) and Robert Ramirez (director of The Comedy of Errors in Zilker Park). Both actors are faculty members in The University of Texas Department of Theatre. Ms. Dorn just returned from a successful run in the Off-Broadway production of 20th Century Blues. Mr. Ramirez is at Arkansas Shakespeare Theatre, having just directed The Merchant of Venice this summer. The staged reading will be performed by a cast of 14 in full costume. Direction is by Austin Shakespeare Artistic Director Ann Ciccolella. Performances are Saturday at 7:30 pm and Sunday at 3:00 and 7:30 pm.

Antony and Cleopatra is Shakespeare at his finest, using extraordinary language and insight to portray a couple never meant to be, whose passions explode into a world-splitting conflict during Rome's crushing rule over Egypt.
