Lucas Bohn's Stand Up and Learn: Just Write
Overview: In this 45 to 60 minute session, former teacher of the year and national touring comedian Lucas Bohn discusses ways to engage students through a variety of cross platforms and social media outlets. Lucas will discuss ways for teachers to encourage students based on their students passions. He will also cover students getting completed products published using self-publishing companies like Kindle and iTunes, building an audience, and generating income from completed projects.
Graphic organizers will be introduced along with analyzing revenue generating avenues. Attendees will learn how to identify groups and communities that students can join to receive help on future projects. The overall goal of Stand Up and Learn: Just Write, is to foster a sense of community for students while providing an overall final goal for their creative endeavors.
Younger students can be taught storyboarding as an enhancement to creative expression.
