Living Arts Playback Theatre Ensemble presents an Evening of Playback Theatre
The Living Arts Playback Theatre Ensemble is an interactive improvisational theatre company that enacts real life personal stories, on the spot. Join us at La Peña Cultural Center on Saturday October 6th and experience first hand the power and delight of Playback Theatre! On this special evening of improvisational storytelling, audience members are invited to share personal stories, feelings, experiences, and memories.

The Living Arts Playback Theatre Ensemble is a nonprofit theater company that offers improvisational performances and workshops for community groups, businesses, and individuals in the San Francisco Bay Area. Since 1986, we have worked with schools, hospitals, organizations, social justice and activist groups, religious communities, conferences, private events like weddings, birthdays, and milestones, as well as for the general public throughout our fall and spring seasons. At the heart of our work is a profound respect for the power of personal story to build bridges between people and cultures.

We practice a unique form of interactive and improvisational theatre called Playback Theatre, which prioritizes the values of empathy, respect and creativity. In our playback theatre performances, a skilled facilitator, or conductor, awakens a range of perspectives and ideas from the audience, through direct and authentic dialogue. Then our ensemble of professional actors and musicians bring the audiences stories to life in a way that is honoring, illuminating and transformative. Our events create a respectful atmosphere where every voice can be heard and any story told  however ordinary or extraordinary, difficult or joyful.

Featuring: Director Armand Volkas and Ensemble members Geno Creese, Vicki Dello Joio, Laurel Elliott, Rae Ann Goldberg, John Kadyk, Christine Kalb, Allison Kenny, Sangita Kumar, Kholoud Nasser, Adrian Orozco-Blair, Merry Ross, and Rebecca Siegel.
