AAJA PAG Photo Hangouts - Houston
Marriott Marquis
Houston, TX
Share this event:

The Asian American Journist Association (AAJA) is a non-profit organization committed to ensuring a fair representation of Asian Americans in the work place and in the media. The Photojournalist Affinity Group (PAG) is a sub group of AAJA and is focused on supporting and providing guidance to photojournalists and documentary photographers with educational programs and mentors to help further their careers.

AAJA PAG would like to introduce our first ever "Photo Hangouts" where you get to hangout with some of the top editorial photographers in the US, see their work and listen to the stories behind the images.

Photo Hangouts was created to educate, motivate and inspire photographers who are interested in pursuing careers in editorial or documentary photography. These Photo Hangouts were made possible by the Pulitzer Center, which promotes in-depth engagement with global affairs through its support of quality international journalism across all media platforms and an innovative program of outreach and education.

We brought together some of the best editorial photographers in the country to share their knowledge and experience to help you see better and shoot better. Each session is 90 minutes long - an approximately one hour presentation from our esteemed photographers, followed by Q&As.

Our confirmed photographers are:
Chang W. Lee, staff photographer, NY Times
Lisa Krantz, staff photographer, San Antonio Express-News
Richard Tsong-Taatarii, staff photographer, Minneapolis Star Tribune
Laura Elizabeth Pohl, freelance photographer
and Houston's own, Robert Seale, freelance photographer
and Houston's own Karen Warren, Houston Chronicle

Come prepared to learn from some of the best in the business.
The schedule is as follows...
