2018 River to Rock Trail Running Challenge

The River to Rock Challenge (formerly Reach the Peaks) is the premier single day trail running challenge in North Carolina. The event offers a strenuous 10 mile world class trail route that will test participants from the banks of the Dan River to the peak of Hanging Rock. River to Rock will utilize both the Indian Creek Trail and Hanging Rock Trail within Hanging Rock State Park.

Parking
ALL TRAIL RUNNING participants will park at The Dan River Company parking area located at 1110 Flinchum Road in Danbury, NC.

CHECK IN for the TRAIL RUNNING CHALLENGE portion is scheduled from 7:30am until 8:45am. ALL TRAIL RUNNERS WILL START AT 9AM.
ADVANCED REGISTRATION is $25 per person and ends on Friday, September 21 at 5 pm. Day of Registration is $35 per person.
TRAIL RUNNING for the 2018 River to Rock Challenge will be limited to the first 75 participants to sign up, whether Advanced or Day of.
ALL PARTICIPANTS will be required to sign a waiver the day of the event before participating.

Two water stations will be located along the trail route.

Fruit and Water will be available for participants at the event start / finish location.

There is no meal included with your River to Rock registration fee.
Food Trucks will be on site should participants be interested in purchasing a meal at the completion of the hike, with complimentary water & soft drinks provided. The Green Heron Ale House will also be open selling NC craft beer and wine.

Participants who complete the challenge will receive a specially created embroidered patch. All participants will also receive an event cooling towel.

Dog registration is $15 per dog, and can be completed by calling 336-593-8159. Each dog must be accompanied by a paying participant, and will receive a River to Rock bandana (and patch should they complete the hike). Only well-behaved dogs welcomed, with ALL dogs required to be on a leash throughout the entire event. Dog participants must bring documentation of most recent rabies vaccine and bordetella vaccine.

THE EVENT WILL TAKE PLACE RAIN OR SHINE (Unless Directed by Stokes Emergency Services to cancel due to natural disaster)

NO REFUNDS! (Unless cancelled under direction of Stokes Emergency Services)

Triad Outdoor Painters will be capturing the day through paintings that will be exhibited the month of October in the Hanging Rock State Park Visitors Center, with a reception scheduled for Sunday, Oct. 14 from 2pm to 4pm.
