Its been a few years since Lunasa made it to the Backroom and for their triumphant return, they are bringing stellar vocalist Ashley Davis with them. What a night this promises to be. However, fair warning: This will sell-out rapidly. Don't miss out on it.
Lunasa has been wowing audiences around the world since 1997. Called "the hottest Irish accoustic band on the planet" by the Irish times, this supergroup of traditional musicians never fails to please. Taking the dance music of Ireland and beyond, as well as originally penned tunes, the effect if often mesmerizing. To have them play in the intimate confines of Burren Backroom is a rare treat indeed. Again, tickets will be gone in a flash, so if you a reading this ACT NOW!
The Burren Backroom series has created intimate, informal presentations held in the atmospheric space created by well-known traditional musicians Tommy McCarthy and Louise Costellyin Davis Square, Somerville, Masachusetts.
Hosted by Brian O'Donovan of A Celtic Sojourn on WGBH radio, these gatherings will feature core performers from many aspects of traditional music as well as special guests, and conversations around the music. As is the custom of the Burren, it is anticipated informal and dynamic post concert sessions will be a feature.
