As part of Forward Motion Physically Integrated Dance Festival, London-based Candoco Dance Company, one of the worlds top contemporary dance companies of disabled and non-disabled dancers, performs on the main stage at the Miami-Dade County Auditorium. The evening features the U.S. premieres of Beheld by U.K.-based Alexander Whitley and Face In by Tisch School of the Arts trained Israeli artist Yasmeen Godder. Beheld presents powerful duets and breath-taking ensemble dancing set to a mesmerizing score by German composer Nils Frahm, while Face In is a sensual and disturbing ode to intimacy and imagination set to an urban indie score.
Candoco was founded in 1991 by Celeste Dandeker-Arnold OBE and Adam Benjamin. The company commissions and produces work by world-class choreographers such as Trisha Brown, Fin Walker and Stephen Petronio. Candoco has a vibrant educational program that provides access to the highest quality of dance for dancers of all abilities. Its work is programmed across the globe and the company has visited over 60 countries in the last 27 years. The Guardian has described Candoco as, Brilliant and bracing, gripping to watch.
