A Night in Zambia: An Evening of Stories, Music & Art
In 2017 a team of youth from Calgary spent three weeks in the Copperbelt Region of Zambia, learning about the Zambian culture and visiting with the folks of the United Church of Zambia Theological University. They learned about health care, social justice and made lasting friendships. One of the wonderful organizations they visited was Kwama Home Based Care, a church-based health care initiative for folks living with HIV/AIDS. In the fall of 2017, a participant from the 2008 Zambia Youth Trip went to Zambia to volunteer for CUSO International as a Nutritional Advisor on the Southern African Nutrition Initiative. Her fiancé, the Campus Ministry Communications Director, went to visit over the holidays and took some amazing photos. We decided to make use of his lovely photos and combine them with stories from the adventures we have all had in Zambia and raise some money for Kwama Home Based Care as well as our local Campus Ministry, which serves U of C, Mount Royal University and SAIT. We hope that you can join us for a fun and informative evening that will showcase a gallery of photos of Zambia that will be available for purchase, music by local university music students, and storytelling from the travelers. Ticket cost includes: entry, a fancy drink or soda, appetizers and 1 door prize ticket. Purchase of photos is available by cash, cheque or credit card. Proceeds from the evening will be split evenly between the Campus Ministry and Kwama Home Based Care.
Thanks again!
