Parents Must Be Dead - Greenhouse Theater Center, Chicago
When her parents died within three years of each other she thought she had weathered this
milestone life passage as an adult with some measure of ease and grace. Little did she know that the death of parents comes in many forms and with many reverberations. Some of them seismic. In her solo show, Christine McHugh explores this landscape that all of us will eventually navigate with raw humor and tender vulnerability. A portrait of grace and a quest for freedom to find oneself in the light during the darkest of times.
"GO see Christine McHugh's solo show, Parents Must Be Dead. In this beautifully articulated show, Christine takes us by the hand to explore how love expresses itself through parents and partners, siblings and flight attendants, and, if you're really lucky, a stranger who shows up at your door with 2 suitcases and never leaves your love." ~ Alaina Warren Zachary, Actress (original Broadway cast of 9)
