Wickie Stamps (National Queer Arts Festival)
FUGUE STATE, from Wickie Stamp's Southern gothic work-in-progress, revolves around the crimes of (and against?) the notorious Dr. Prince Beckmana psychiatrist and former head of the unbelievably creeptastic Zeboiim prison. Follow Francy MacLeish, a frequently medicated ex-mental patient, as she "investigates" the doctor's gruesome trail. Meet the case's major suspects: Jackson Beckman, a defrocked psychiatrist and son of Prince, Jackson's illegitimate convict brother Dakin, and Francy's sister M MacLeisha loveable anti-psychiatry, sexually transgressive, revenge-oriented anarchist. FUGUE STATE's characters are guaranteed to charm youand creep you out.

Wickie Stamps is a widely published writer and emerging screenwriter whose work has appeared in The Advocate, OutWeek, Gay Community News, Pucker Up and over a dozen short-story collections. Prior editor of the notorious hardcore gay-boy sex mag Drummer as well as Socialist Review, Wickie is the lead writer of the award-winning short film Foucault Who?  Co-partner of Heads Will Roll Films, a rag-tag media biz, Wickie's current obsessions--showcased on HWR's Head Wound podcast--include crime, horror, and esoteric spiritual research and practices. Find Wickie's latest written ravings on the blog. Also check out her work on wild rocker sitcom Rock Court at and her creative co-conspiratorial coaching biz Monstre Sacre at
