How Economic Development is Delivered in Whatcom County: A Practitioners Perspective
Most of us, at one time or another, while driving around the county, have noticed a construction project and asked ourselves "What's going up there?" or "Who's funding that project?" or "Will that fit in with our community or neighborhood standards?". Lucky for us that these and other questions will be answered at our March 27th City Club Program as our two presenters bring a great deal of experience and expertise on the topic of economic development in our area.
John Michener of the Port of Bellngham and Jennifer Shelton of the Small Business Development Council will discuss the varied and complex elements of successful economic development in our community including who decides, who funds, who implements, who benefits and who evaluates the impacts of economic development.
