Herban Adventure Kids' Camp: Wilderness First Aid
Herban Adventures is back at Tiny Diner with more amazing classes to engage your children in healthy eating and gardening! The out of doors is a place of wild exploration, amazing treasures and potential pitfalls. In the second class of the series, we'll learn how to plan ahead and take care of ourselves when disaster strikes. You'll be able to laugh at a mosquito bite, take care of a pesky splinter, and stop a cut from bleeding. Be prepared with knowledge of herbal first aid and you'll be able to walk the woods with confidence!

This class can be taken as individually or as a three part series. Other classes take place on Wednesday June 13th and 27th from 9-11am. Classes are designed for children 3-9 but all ages are welcome. Classes will take place rain or shine. Parents must be on-site during class times and are encouraged to attend the class. Please send any questions to Andrea at andrea.e@tinydiner.com.

About the teachers:

Megan Matel is joyously overwhelmed by the beauty of the natural world. A forever student of the plants, she is dedicated to learning and growing the medicine of her bioregion as a way to cultivate healing within her community. With a background in early childhood education, she has extensive experience gardening with kids and families and has witnessed firsthand how vital it is for them to experience the wonder and magic of engaging with the earth and growing their own food. She is the owner and founder of Natura North Holistic Health, where she weaves together an integrated approach to wellness with her work as a Community Herbalist, Yoga Instructor & Permaculture Designer. (naturanorth.com). You can also find Megan working and playing with Land by Hand, an ecological design, build and education organization (landbyhand.org).

Clare Gardner Nieto
Clare grew up roaming the woods and fields with her mother, a self-taught naturalist and expert gardener, who taught her from an early age the names and signatures of plants and the knowing of the natural world. Clare has studied herbalism with Lise Wolff and Matthew Wood, and flower essence therapy with Martin Bulgerin in Minneapolis and the Flower Essence Society in California. She is passionate about sharing her knowledge with kids so that they too get to know the wonder and magic of the natural world around them. She practices herbalism and flower essence therapy out of her home in Northeast Minneapolis and can be found on the web at www.claregardnernieto.com.
