GREEN LINE
TrioDance Collective is pleased to announce its second annual GREEN LINE Performance and this year's selected choreographers. GREEN LINE will be held on April 12, 2013 at 8:00pm at Buttenwieser Hall at the 92nd Street Y's Harkness Dance Center, an historic 100-seat venue on the Upper East Side of Manhattan.
GREEN LINE is a limited-tech presentation in a setting with substantial artistic lineage. The program draws from TrioDance Collective's mission to champion the individual artist within the support of a group structure, and features choreographers who elect to work with groups rather than making solo work. The gathering of a variety of like-minded dance artists provides platform to establish an open dialogue among artists, and work generously within a shared discipline.
Ensemble works are important to TrioDance Collective because they imply a built-in sense of community and a way of working that considers the priorities of multiple artists. TrioDance understands the distinct challenges that come along with building and maintaining ensembles, and seeks to foster solidarity with other groups that do the same.
The first iteration of GREEN LINE in April 2012 brought a sold-out audience and positive feedback from participating artists, and we are excited to announce this year's choreographers:
