MELSTOCK

Sirsy is a band that doesn't quit. They play up to 300 shows a year. In 2017 they performed 218 times in 38 states, covering over 62,000 miles.

After 7 years cancer free, Melanie recently had a routine MRI, which led to a biopsy, only to find out she has cancer again. Sirsy (Melanie and Rich), after advice from Melanie's doctor saying that this cannot wait, had to cancel their upcoming west coast tour and head back. Touring is Sirsy's livelihood and any hiatus for such a band isn't easy. Since then Mel has undergone surgery and wont be able to perform for the rest of the summer. For someone who makes their living playing music taking the summer months off can be devastating. We are hoping to alleviate some of the financial burden this has caused.

Since every fantastic musician I know has been booked for MONTHS were going to keep this simple! The Lustre Kings have generously donated their night and will be performing that night. I will join them for a large portion of that. We dont get to play together too often so when we do its off the hook! Well have some other special guests that evening as well and will culminate with a comedy show featuring yours truly as well because who cant use a laugh?

This will be the first Melstock. There will be more. For Melanie this is a marathon; not a sprint. There will be other times she will need to take off in the future. Once this wonderful lady is out of the woods Melstock will continue and we will raise money for others in need! Were hoping this turns into a great recurring event to help those who need it most! But right now its all for Mel and Rich!
