Snap on 2&4 w/ Alex Graham
NJW is pleased to welcome the Alex Graham Quartet to the Jazz Cave for the next Snap on 2&4 concert event on Friday, March 22.
Alto saxophonist Alex Graham has performed with a variety of artists including Diane Schuur, The Four Tops, Nnenna Freelon, The Temptations, Jim Rotondi, Rodney Whitaker, Peter Bernstein and many more. After living in New York City for ten years, Graham returned to his native Michigan to become the music director at Grand Hotel in 2001. His groups have performed at festivals and clubs all over the United States and have opened concerts for Dave Brubeck, The Count Basie Orchestra and John Pizzarelli, among others. He has been awarded fellowships and residencies to compose original music, and has composed and arranged for small group, big band and studio orchestra.
Graham completed his doctorate in Jazz Studies at the Eastman School of Music in Rochester, NY in 2009 and he holds the title of Assistant Professor of Saxophone at Belmont University. His latest CD on Origin Records, Brand New, was ranked in the top 50 nationally for airplay.
The rest of the quartet is composed of 3 of Nashville's finest players: Joe Davidian (piano), Michael Rinne (bass), and Josh Hunt (drums). It is sure to be an amazing performance.
The show will consist of 2 sets, beginning at 8pm. Doors open at 7:15.
Admission is $20 / $10 high school and college students with ID. Tickets will go on sale Monday, March 11 at 10AM and will be available online on this page or by phone 24/7 at Brown Paper Tickets (800-838-3006) or during business hours at the NJW office (242-5299). A small convenience charge is added to online or 800-number purchases.
Policies: The Jazz Cave is a BYOB establishment, with no alcohol or food service. You are free to bring alcoholic beverages and snacks. We sell soft drinks and bottled water. The Jazz Cave is a listening room, and we ask patrons to keep conversation to a minimum and silence cell phones.
