NOtown Roller Derby vs. The ShEvil Dead
Who will the derby gods favor at this April 13th as the Ladies of NOtown take on Bay Area's ShEvil Dead? All we will say is that it's going to be an awesome evening of derby action. Come on out to our new venue at the Fairground's Junior Exhibit Hall Saturday, April 13th and choose your side. Doors open at 5PM, Junior Derby Scrimmage at 6PM, and Whistles blow on the main event at 7:30PM. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Founded in 2008, NOtown Roller Derby has been committed from the start to giving back to the community that supports them. This past December, NOtown hosted the USA Roller Sports inaugural National Championship which featured 3 exhibition bouts from Junior teams across California. Due to the level of excitement that these junior bouts have elicited, in January NOtown voted to create Fresno's first Junior Derby Program for boy and girl skaters ages 13-17.
"This is our 5th year anniversary season. We are making changes and evolving as a league. The Junior Derby Program is about making sure that the Central Valley keeps derby alive for the next generation of skaters. Not every sport fits every kid. If you are looking for a way to get your kids involved and excited- why not give derby a try?" Elizabeth Payne, aka "Payne,"Assistant Professor, Fresno State.
NOtown Roller Derby is a 501(c)3 non-profit, amateur sports organization committed to giving back the community that supports them. A portion of our proceeds will go to benefit our Junior Derby Program. Find NOtown Roller Derby on Facebook and Twitter! Junior Derby Tryouts are every first Tuesday of the Month.
