SOLO SUNDAYS - 7/8/18 Paul Sussman, Kenny Yun, Maria Grazia Affinito, Bruce Pachtman
.

PAUL SUSSMAN
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"The Wrong Kind of Pessimism"

It's just another day at work. Until the new guy shows up. What's his problem? We've been using our tool for 25,000 years and it's always been good enough.  Just because you're hairless and erect, you think you know everything?!  Maybe we should try it, what's the worst that could happen?

MARIA GRAZIA AFFINITO
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"Mamma, leave my breasts alone!"

Maria's been praying, going to Church, completing chores, and doing what Mamma says. But there's more going on for Maria now that she has started college. Yesterday, Maria kissed a girl goodnight, and Mamma saw the whole thing. "Why.... why?  You're going against God." Against God? But it's love.

KENNY YUN
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"Couch Potato Panda Rituals"

Its 1:30am. Kenny is paralyzed on the couch. Bay Area new agers told him to move on so it should be easy. Texting him memes of unicorns shitting zen quotes and rainbows fixes everything, right? But mom died. He can't move. Lying there for nine hours. Nothing has worked for grief but willing to try anything. He crawls off the couch. Lights candles. Burns incense. Chants Klingon.

BRUCE PACHTMAN
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"50 People Who Look Just Like Me"

In five minutes, Bruce will audition for the lead in a major motion picture. The audition is just a formality. The role is pretty clearly his. Bruce is pretty sure of it. It's not supposed to be this easy. Is it possible that they'll ask him to sign a contract today?
