Latin American Flute with Dianne Grubbe, Jane Lenoir & Friends

Flutists Diane Grubbe, of Quinteto Latino, and Jane Lenoir, of Berkeley Choro Ensemble and Primavera Latin Jazz, are joining forces to present a concert of works showcasing the history and traditions of flute playing in Latin America. The concert will open with composed works, including works by Astor Piazzolla, Radames Gnattali, Roberto Sierra, Mario Lavista and Heitor Villa-Lobos. After intermission the program will turn to popular and folk idioms of Brazil, Cuba, Mexico and Argentina, including choro, samba, baiao and tango.
