Urban Stories Theatre & Knox Theatre Collective presents Just Acts Play Festival: Youth Edition
The Just Acts Youth Edition is in its second year of showcasing youth writers aged 12-16. This year we are featuring two very different offerings, one about youth and one by youth.
A Touch of Grace by Helen Young is a play that tackles the teen sex trade by showing how the tragedy of a 14 year old sex worker helps a case worker find a sense of hope and belonging. This is a sneak peak at a section of the play.
The Stardale Womens Group will be presenting The Make Believer Project written and performed by the girls themselves. It is a 20-25 minute performance of spoken word, poetry and storytelling. The Make Believer Project gives these young aboriginal girls a much deserved and sorely lacking voice.
These young writers are the future of Calgarys thriving theatre scene so dont miss out on this eclectic and thought provoking show!!
