Jonathan Markow has been playing piano for over fifty years. Born in the Bronx, he formed his first jazz trio at a young age and has continued his dedication to jazz performance ever since. Jonathan has played with some of NYCs finest club and studio musicians, including Eliot Zigmund, Iris Ornig, Gary Guzio, Ron McClure, Milt Hinton, Sean Smith, Brian Hurley, David Smith, and many others. Jonathan has arranged pieces for vocalists and composed scores for off-broadway plays while also working as a non-profit leader. Having moved to Durham in summer, 2015, he is delighted to be performing with the many deeply talented jazz artists in the Triangle area.
