RITF First Love
RITF presents the American premiere of "First Love" by Samuel Beckett, as performed by Conor Lovett from Gare St. Lazare Players of Ireland. Conor Lovett was last seen at Rubicon in "The Good Thief" by Conor McPherson. The creative team of Conor Lovett and Judy Hegarty Lovett return to the hilarious and poignant world of Beckett's early prose works with this dramatization of his novella. The narrator, expelled from the family home upon the death of his father, takes refuge on a bench by a canal. There he meets a woman who takes him home; the events that follow are hilariously terrible. Gare St. Lazare Players have toured internationally with their unique presentations of Beckett's prose works. Between them Conor and Judy have worked on over 30 Beckett productions. The Los Angeles Times says, "One could hardly come up with a better human instrument to intone the sonorous waves of Beckett's plasphemous comic prose than Conor Lovett".
